Building & Code Enforcements is responsible for the protection, the health and safety of citizens through the enforcement of building codes and standards and City Ordinances in order to ensure that both new and existing structures within the City limits meet minimum health, safety, and construction standards. This department reviews plans, issues building permits, and performs inspections for new construction, repairs, alterations, and remodeling of existing structures, as well as moving and demolishing buildings. This department also receives complaints from citizens regarding code enforcement issues like broken down vehicles, substandard dwellings, and overgrown weeds.

The purpose of the Comments and Questions link below is to provide a way for the community to make their suggestions and comments known to the City, as well as to receive information back. Suggestions and Comments can be made anonymously, however if you have a concern or complaint that you would like the Building Department to look into you must provide either a phone number and/or e-mail address for them to contact you in case they need further information.
